MCL Control has developed TurbineSentinelTM, a product for the protection and control of gas turbines, combining specific needs of safety, monitoring, sequencing of the turbine, high speed control strategies, and with the global requirements of machines integration, production strategies, monitoring facilities, information supervision and centralization. The global concept of the TurbineSentinelTM offers answers that reach all the areas related with production (operation, maintenance, supervision, management, administration, etc.). Based on current ISA/ANSI and IEC safety standards requirements, TurbineSentinelTM complies with the separation concept of having Safety and Control in independent Modules as described below. Furthermore, the TurbineSentinelTM is based upon commercial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) open platform for both, control and sequencing, and upon IEC-61508 compliant TÜV certified Programmable Electronic Systems (PES or Safety PLC) for the process safety. The TurbineSentinelTM architecture can be adjusted for compliance with the required Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and availability for your process. The TurbineSentinelTM also offers the flexibility of combining the control and the protection of the machine in the same controller (PLC) for cases in which the applicable regulations and standards allow it.
